Chris Isaak - I Want You To Want Me (Cheap Trick)
Giant Drag - Wicked Game (Chris Isaak)
Ray Lamontagne - Crazy (Gnarls Barkley)
The Gabe Dixon Band - Hey Joe (Jimi Hendrix)
The Sun - (Wish I Could Fly Like) Superman (The Kinks)
Beatfreakz - Somebody's Watching Me (HiTack edit by Rockwell)
Loleatta Holloway - Love Sensation (HiTack Burning Up Mix)
The White Stripes - One More Cup of Coffee (Bob Dylan) / Jolene (Dolly Parton)
Nada Surf - Where Is My Mind (The Pixies) / I'm Sick Of You (Iggy Pop)
Gavin DeGraw - Jealous Guy (John Lennon)
Scissor Sisters - Take Me Out (Franz Ferdinand)
Royksopp - Go With The Flow (QOTSA)
Johnny Cash - Rowboat (Beck)
The Raconteurs - It Ain't Easy (Ron Davies)
Firewater - Diamonds & Gold (Tom Waits)
The Kooks - Crazy (Gnarls Barkley)
Xavier Rudd - The Letter
Xavier Rudd's song "The Letter" is not a cover. I was on crack when I said he covered Joe Cocker. And Joe Cocker wasn't the writer of "The Letter" either. Wayne Carson Thompson wrote "The Letter" and it was The Box Tops that first made the song popular not Joe Cocker. So I should have played Joe Cocker's version of "The Letter" on my covers podcast. That would have made the most sense.
But out of all mistakes comes something good right? I discovered Xavier Rudd by searching for "The Letter". Xavier is from the land down under and has released several CD's and played Bonnaroo twice! Who knew! Not me obviously. Stay tuned for more goodies from Xavier on the next podcast.

Kami,
I guess you're not as old as you think... Although Joe Cocker's version of The Letter was a classic, it was actually a cover of the original 60's version by the Box Tops.

OK... After listening to the version of The Letter by Xavier Rudd, I would have to say that it is NOT a cover of either the Joe Cocker or Box Tops song "The Letter", since this is a totally different song!

No, the biggest mistake is crediting Hey Joe to Jimi Hendrix. Jeez... there's some controversy as to who actually wrote that song, but there is quite a bit of evidence that Billy Roberts wrote it. It first appeared on the pop charts I think in 1965; or it was 1965 when The Leaves released a single, MUCH faster than Jimi Hendrix's version. The Leaves later released a version with fuzz guitar. Before Hendrix got around to it, the song was recorded the Surfaris, Tim Rose, the Byrds, Love, Shadows of Night, Warlocks and many others.
